Meet Kevin McCarthy
Kevin McCarthy jokes that he emerged as a successful Realtor almost by accident.
“I’d purchased a few investment properties and I had to sell one,” recalls Kevin. “So I got my license for my own purposes and, before long, people I knew started asking for my help. That went on for a few years, and I suddenly found myself with a career in the real estate business.”
A self-proclaimed “people person,” Kevin loves helping others. At the age of 13, the Austin native began working in his family’s dry cleaning business and has enjoyed the satisfaction that comes from interacting with clients ever since.
Meet Kevin McCarthy: Problem solver, consumer advocate, and real estate expert.
Kevin’s commitment to adding value and being of service in any situation have made him a consistent top producer. Eager to share what he considers to be the secrets to his success, Kevin spent years training new real estate agents.
“It’s important to be consistent,” he says. “For me, it’s a combination of being likable but also knowledgeable. People feel comfortable with me and they also know that I have the experience to guide them through any stage of a real estate transaction.”
An avid real estate investor, Kevin knows how to analyze a property.
“My personal experience coupled with my knowledge and abilities as a Realtor allow me to help my clients with purchase decisions, whether it’s for a principal residence or an investment property. I like to take the longview and encourage my clients to always consider their exit strategy,” Kevin says.
His commitment to always serving his clients’ best interests and assisting them in achieving their financial goals led Kevin to join the Maxavenue team.
“Maxavenue puts me in the unique position to help my clients thanks to their proven systems,” says Kevin. “With the Maximum Value Home Selling System® and Maximum Value Home Buying System®, I have the tools that add value. Because of these strategies, we’re always negotiating from a position of strength.”
A creative problem solver, Kevin says he shines in situations that might intimidate others.
“My goal is to avoid problems and eliminate them whenever and wherever I can,” says Kevin. “I want to ensure the stresses that can accompany home buying or selling don’t happen. But if they do arise, you want me on your side. When those things happen, you want me solving it for you.”
Kevin puts his background in construction and renovation to good use by advising his clients should they tour homes in need of some TLC.
“If we’re looking at a property that needs a little work, I’m able to ballpark the cost of repairs and give them a good idea of what they could expect to pay for materials or what an installer might charge,” says Kevin. “I can tell you which fix-ups are worth doing and which are not.”
True to his nature, the helpful handyman isn’t shy about pitching in where he can.
“Occasionally, I’ll even repair something myself,” he says. “Once I had a client whose closet door was falling off. I went out to my trunk, grabbed my drill, and said, ‘Let me fix that. You don’t need to pay $75 to have someone come out for this.’”
Going out of his way for others inspired Kevin to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. A skilled craftsman, Kevin has been involved in building three homes for the nonprofit housing organization and keeps his hard hat close to his desk.
Kevin loves the flexibility that his career in real estate offers because it allows him to spend time with his wife and two daughters. The devoted dad, who specializes in the Cedar Park, Round Rock, and the surrounding North West areas, shares his knowledge of local schools, restaurants and fun activities around town with his clients.
When he isn’t helping his clients buy or sell their homes for the maximum profit, Kevin enjoys traveling with his family, catching live music performances around town, going to the movies, deep sea fishing and spending time at his beach home in port aransas.
