Claire McIntyre’s interest in architecture began at an early age as she watched her father and grandfather design and build schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings from the ground up.

“I’ve always loved homes,” says Claire. “As a child, I would cut pictures of home interiors out of magazines and lay them out on the floor to create a floor plan.”

Meet Claire McIntyre: Real estate broker, architect, volunteer. The only woman in her class, Claire earned her B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas. This unique degree encompasses all aspects of the building industry, including Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Construction Management.

“Not many universities offer this degree,” says Claire. “My architectural engineering and construction management experience were a natural fit with real estate brokerage.”

Over the past three decades, Claire has coupled her extensive knowledge base with her love of real estate and her desire to see clients find the home that best meets their lifestyle and financial goals.

“My clients see me not as a salesperson but more as a counselor or an advisor,” she says. “In fact, I’ve talked people out of buying more homes than I’ve sold. People buy for emotional reasons, but if I see problems like leaks or other issues, I’ll advise them against buying. They’re surprised at first, but they thank me later.”

This approach gives Claire’s clients peace of mind and confidence, knowing she always has their best interest at heart.

“I’m not just trying to sell them something. I want to be able to sleep well at night, so I want to do what’s best for them. What they say they want isn’t always what’s right for them. I’m able to take those emotional wants and put them into practical applications I’m really listening and I love helping people take the stress out of the home buying or selling process.”

Claire, who’s sold more than $250 million in real estate, comprising over 1,000 transactions, also holds a Certified Construction Specifier Designation, and has developed office buildings, condominiums, and apartments, built and sold “spec” homes, and flipped single family residential properties.

As much as Claire treasured the independence of managing her own real estate brokerage, after being introduced to Maxavenue’s proprietary “Maximum Value Home Selling System” – the most advanced, relevant, up-to-date property marketing system in the real estate industry — she joined the team.

“With Maxavenue and the tremendous team they have in place, I’m able to offer so much more to my clients,” says Claire. “The people involved are so dynamic and successful, and as the saying goes, ‘Success follows success.’ The marketing support Maxavenue has in place enables me to help my clients by finding the right buyer for their homes. It’s a tried-and-true system that has already proven successful. It’s my mission to get my clients the most money for their property or buy at the best possible price, and I’m very excited and very enthusiastic about being a part of Maxavenue.”

After graduating from the University, Claire decided to stay in Austin. Raising her family in the area has provided Claire with in-depth knowledge of Central and Northwest Austin, including Balcones Village, Spicewood at Balcones, Great Hills, Northwest Hills, Rosedale, Brykerwoods, Pemberton, Tarrytown, Lakeway, Millwright, Cedar Park and Leander.

When she isn’t helping clients attain maximum value, Claire enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her husband, grown children, grandkids and four large, affectionate dogs

“I love Lake Travis,” she says. “For years, my husband, John, and I had a sailboat and we enjoyed taking our dogs out on the lake and going camping. There are some great areas to go hiking, and the best part is that it’s all in town. You don’t have to go far to find parks and streams.”

Committed to giving back, Claire and her husband volunteer for the Guardian Angel Society. This philanthropic group provides sustaining support to abused children served by the Center for Child Protection. Funds and awareness raised by Claire and fellow donors provide child victims of abuse an opportunity to be heard and a chance to heal in a place free of pain and full of possibility.

Claire also plays tennis and golf, and enjoys cycling.
