Bill loves to tell the story of why he became a Realtor® – when he tried to sell his home, the listing agent made promises they didn’t keep (and his listing expired).

As an experienced businessman, Bill knew there had to be a better way than hiring traditional agents. He made it is personal mission to offer buyers and sellers an alternative to the mediocrity he had experienced.

After he sold his house quicker and for a higher value than his own listing agent, Bill knew he wanted to raise the bar and provide a better experience for homebuyers and sellers. After six months of unsatisfactory communication with the real estate agent he hired to sell his home, the listing on Bill Buvens’ house expired. So this business owner, furniture maker, and former corporate event producer decided to take matters into his own hands. “I marketed my house by myself on the Internet… and within 30 days I sold it for $25,000 more than my Realtor® ever thought possible,” says Bill. “I became a Realtor® because, after that experience, I realized there was a sizeable gap between what was being done and what could be done for homebuyers and sellers. Before earning his real estate license, Bill owned a furniture and cabinet making business. He apprenticed under renowned woodworker Sam Maloof, and even built his own home… and much of the furniture in his home. “Making furniture requires a strict attention to detail,” says Bill. “Sometimes it’s hard to see why a piece is so beautiful until a craftsman points out the certain special details and nuances.” With his specialized understanding of home construction and design, Bill provides a fresh perspective on a home’s unique features or potential maintenance problems.
